2024 Oscar Nominated Short Films ~ Animation

In partnership with the Dare County Arts Council and the OBX Film Society, Ocracoke Alive is hosting three evenings of this year's Oscar Nominated Short Films, in the categories of Animation, Live Action, and Documentary.

This special release features the year's most spectacular short films and is available to watch on the big screen for a limited time shortly after nominations are announced.

The Animated Nominees are:
Letter to a Pig

Synopsis
A Holocaust survivor reads a letter he wrote to the pig who saved his life. A young schoolgirl hears his testimony in class and sinks into a twisted dream where she confronts questions of identity, collective trauma, and the extremes of human nature.

Each nominee is released in one of three distinct feature-length compilations according to their category of nomination: Live Action, Animation, or Documentary.

The theatrical release of the nominated short films is the world's largest commercial release of short films, delighting audiences and giving filmmakers an unprecedented opportunity to entertain short film fans.
