In partnership with the Dare County Arts Council and the OBX Film Society, Ocracoke Alive is hosting three evenings of this year's Oscar Nominated Short Films, in the categories of Animation, Live Action, and Documentary.
This special release features the year's most spectacular short films and is available to watch on the big screen for a limited time shortly after nominations are announced.
The Documentary Nominees are: Island in Between TAIWAN, USA/20 MINS/2023 Director ~ S. Leo Chiang Synopsis From Taiwan’s frontline amid rising tensions with China, filmmaker S. Leo Chiang weaves lyrical glimpses of local life with his own struggle negotiating ambivalent bonds to Taiwan, China, and the US. ISLAND IN BETWEEN explores the uneasy peace in Taiwan, and contemplates its uncertain future.
